A mother will do whatever is in her power to give her kids the best childhood. Despite giving unconditional love, being a present parent, feeding, and clothing the child, sometimes that is not enough. When funds are low, toys and clothes become a luxury a lot of parents cannot afford.

It’s not for a lack of trying. Working hard doesn’t always translate into making more money. It’s even harder when children see what their friends have in terms of toys and games in comparison to them. It doesn’t mean the boy or girl does not appreciate what they have or are selfish. They are children and making them understand that material things are not important is easier said than done, particularly for the younger kids who just want the newest, most popular toy.

Megan Clara was heartbroken one Christmas when all she afford to buy her son was an Etch A Sketch, small stuffies, and new clothes.

The single mom earned $100 per week and buying more than she could afford was out of the question.

The 20-year-old learned she was pregnant when she was 13 years old.

She dropped out of school but returned later to complete her studies in Portsmouth, Hampshire in England.

“Last Christmas I could barely scrape any money together, it was really tough and I couldn’t help but worry Ashton was going to be left out and disappointed,” she says.

She says her son Ashton was never happy with the Christmas toys he got.

“He has always wanted what his friends had but I didn’t have the spare cash for expensive toys,” Clara says. “Being on benefits was a struggle.”

She saw how much an old friend who was doing nude modelling was making and got in touch with her photographer.

Clara got involved in glamour modelling and adult films, making on average $600 per scene.

She says she was bullied as a kid and had low self-esteem but she still dreamed of being a model one day.

“I wanted to become a glamour model from the age of seven after idolizing Katie Price but I didn’t have the confidence until my late teens to even try modelling,” Clara admits.

Her hard work paid off as she admits the next Christmas her budget went from $100 to close to $2,500.

Among Ashton’s Christmas loot was a bike, clothes, Converse shoes, Lego sets, cars, superhero figurines, games, clothes, Toy Story action figures, and games.

“Ashton has wanted a bike for over three-years and I’ve finally been able to make his dream come true. It’s an amazing feeling,” she says with pride.

Although Clara admits there has been backlash as the moms at school talk behind her back and strangers criticize her as a parent.

“I enjoy what I do and I’m not hurting anyone else, some people are just jealous,” she says. “I can spend my money how I like too, I don’t spend it on alcohol, drugs or smoking, why shouldn’t I spend it on Ashton and myself.”

“I’m never going to stop what I love doing, the haters are only going to make me stronger,” Clara reveals. “My job’s amazing, I love being in front of the camera.”
